As the Buyer/Specialist member of our Prepared Foods team, your role will include ordering, replenishing, and merchandising Prepared Foods products. You will have some discretion regarding quantity and product selection, and will be empowered to source some products from local vendors. Additionally you will work to maintain attractive Prepared Foods displays and supporting the regional Prepared Foods vision. You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.
Give every customer immediate and undivided attention. Surprise and delight the customers with consistent, delicious food.
Order all Prepared Foods products, maintaining adequate back stock levels.
Communicate with Kitchen Manager/Chef and Team Leader concerning all order needs and problems concerning ordering.
Process invoices and returns.
Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
Request and ensure proper signage.
Assist in training of new Team Members, utilizing all learning checklists and training materials.
Keep Prepared Foods department clean, sweep floors and maintain sweep logs.
Help to achieve and exceed margin and sales targets.
Control spoilage/shrink; achieve turn goals; participate in monthly inventory.
Perform all duties and responsibilities of Prepared Foods Team Members.
Perform inventory and maintain inventory sheets on a monthly basis.
Control spoilage in the department by ensuring proper storage of items and product rotation.
Receive monthly menus and adjust buying accordingly to new dishes.
Work with Team Leader in costing out each recipe.
Receive and check for accuracy and quality on all in coming products.
Complete understanding of margins, turns, and inventory. Maintains weekly/monthly purchasing budget.
Perform inventory and maintain inventory sheets on a monthly basis.
Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.
Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.

Minimum one year prepared foods experience
Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.

Essential Job Functions:
Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds. Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
